Youth Services

The Fifth Fire

The Fifth Fire program is designed to assist youth to be successful in their transition from foster care to independence.

Using a combination of cultural components, Indigenous youth are introduced or reintroduced to their Indigenous identity which assists them to have a more fluid transition when interacting with community and cultural connections. Derived from the Seven Fires teachings of the Saulteaux Peoples, The Firth Fire service philosophy is directed to youth and is one of holism, accountability, and determined by youth necessity. It employs the medicine wheel model that guarantees that balance and reciprocity are utilized as strength-based approaches.

The program can also offer youth services in housing searches, life skills, employment readiness, recreational activities, mental health support, parenting courses, as well as emergency and advocacy services.
